Installation Engineer

Novara People is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking an experienced Electrical / Mechanical Installation Engineer to join their growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing specialist electrical and mechanical ventilation systems across various sites throughout London and the South of England.

This is a hands-on position, working closely with Project Managers, site teams and contractors to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out electrical and mechanical installations of specialist ventilation systems.
Ensure all installations are completed to specification, within agreed deadlines and in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate installation activities.
Liaise professionally with main contractors, M&E contractors and other site personnel.
Assist with testing, commissioning and fault-finding where required.
Undertake control panel wiring where experience allows.
Support and guide labourers or apprentices where necessary.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and site organisation.
Travel between customer sites across London and the South of England.

Skills Required

Proven experience in electrical installation, ideally within commercial or industrial environments.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
Experience installing, wiring and connecting electrical equipment.
Good electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Experience with testing and commissioning electrical installations.
Basic mechanical installation knowledge would be advantageous.
Previous experience with ventilation systems or control panel wiring would be beneficial but is not essential.
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on site.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Flexible approach to work and willingness to travel between sites across London and the South East

Qualifications Required

Essential:

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Valid ECS or CSCS card.
Full UK Driving License

Desirable:

City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.
Additional mechanical or ventilation-related qualifications.

Rate of Pay

£40,000.00 – £50,000.00 per hour
